The lower Wheaton elementary students concluded National Fire Safety week by taking a trip to the Wheaton Fire Station. Students learned important safety tips such as having a meeting point in case of a fire emergency and having working smoke detectors in their homes. The highlight of the trip was exploring the station, gear and the fire trucks! Thank you Wheaton Fire for the hospitality for our little bulldogs!

Mrs. Mattingly's Kindergarten class had a fun filled pumpkin day! Kindergarteners counted pumpkin seeds, did a pumpkin investigation, experimented to see if pumpkins would sink or float, made pumpkin slime and even erupted a pumpkin volcano! Kindergarteners used a scale to see if white pumpkins or orange pumpkins were heavier and then measured them too! The day was wrapped up decorating pumpkins with their own special touch!

Last week, Miss Davis’s 2nd grade class learned about the different states of matter in Science. Then on Friday we put our knowledge to the test and identified the matter that was located in the root beer floats that the students made. They identified that the ice cream was a solid, the root beer was a liquid, and the foam that was created was a gas.
