In preparation of Thanksgiving, the Wheaton Elementary students in Kindergarten- 2nd Grade had fun learning about one of the all time favorite traditions of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. This week we read the book, "Balloons Over Broadway" and learned all about the big balloons that fly throughout the parade. Then each students had fun designing and creating their own balloon inspired creation for the parade. The students were so excited to show off their creations as they walked down the parade route.
Enjoy the Thanksgiving break with family and friends. Classes will resume on Monday, November 27th.

Mrs. Mattingly's Kindergarten class participated in a penpal project called The ABC's from across the USA this Fall. The class received 21 letters from all different states across the U.S. Each letter came with a note about the class's state, town and school. Mrs. Mattingly's class created the letter "N" into a Ninja Turtle. As the letters came in the class mapped each state on their classroom globe. The students had great time seeing how far letters came from and learning about what other Kindergartners in our country are doing in their classrooms.
Congratulations to Leonel Millan-Gomez for achieving 1st place in Business Law, and to everyone who competed at the MSSU Business Gateway today. You represented Wheaton very well!
