Parents, we are excited to announce that construction has begun on our safe room/cafeteria! With that being said we wanted to send a reminder that starting today, we will have alternate pickup procedures for some, and that our morning drop-off will also change. All morning and afternoon bus riders will not have a procedural change at all. For the afternoon pickup, if you pick up your child from the front of the elementary, they will now be picked up from the front doors of the high school. It will be very important that parents have their pickup tags (example picture attached) so we can differentiate between high school and elementary vehicles to ensure a safe and timely pickup. K-2 parent pickup will take place on the side of the building by the current cafeteria as they have all year. Starting tomorrow morning, all parent drop-off will take place on the side of the elementary through the current cafeteria (McCall Street). We are very excited for the construction to begin, and appreciate your patience as we navigate these new procedures. I have also attached a map to help clarify the procedures. If you have any questions, please reach out to the elementary office.

The phones are back up and working. Thank you for your patience.

Our phones are currently down and we are working on getting them back up. If you need to contact the school please email Dale at dforgey@wheatonschools.org or Donna at dford@wheatonschools.org
We will let you know when they are up and running again.

At today's assembly we had the privilege to honor our Veterans. Thank you for your service to our country! Special thank you to our speaker Sgt. Terry Billingsley. Our STUCO, Mrs. Harris, Wheaton FFA, Mr. Hendrix, Mr. Bolton, JROTC, Choir, Miss Caery, the Newtonia Quilters Guild, our custodial staff, and everyone who helped in the recognition of our local Veterans.

Don't forget to join us for our Veterans Day Assembly, Friday, November 11th @ 10:00 am in the gym. We look forward to celebrating the men and women who have served and are serving our country.

Saturday afternoon, Lakeisha Wise ran in the Missouri State Cross Country Championships in Columbia, Mo. In cold, wet and windy conditions (wind chill at 33 degrees and mud everywhere) Lakeisha ran her 4th fastest time of the year, only 30 seconds off of her season best (which she ran the week before at Districts). Coach Grant and Coach Trask were both very impressed with Lakeisha's drive and determination to improve this year and are very excited about the possibilities for next year.
Way to go Lakeisha, you represented Wheaton well!!!

The basketball teams have an online store open until Friday, November the 18th. Here is the link to view the store to get some Bulldog gear!

Today we had our Halloween Celebrations. Our students had some very creative costume ideas, and the community came out and supported us in a big way for the parade! Please add any pictures taken of the parade in the comments, and thank you for all of our staff, students, and community members for making this such a success!

Our FFA students are getting in lots of steps here in Indianapolis at the #FFA22 National Convention.
